How would you feel if you had more control over your state of being? So, when life stresses and health issues arise, you never feel helpless or overwhelmed, but in fact, you felt courage and purpose in the face of it.

There is immense strength in comprehending your physical and mental health, how to support it and how that impacts the rest of your life, especially when it’s not all blue skies and smooth sailing.
Stress is the biggest factor in all of it. Stress is a hardwired, physical response that impacts our body as a whole, our capabilities in life and everything we engage in. Overwhelming stress is a huge and ever increasing epidemic, especially today.

In times of stress, our body produces cortisol through the adrenal gland which is well known as the “stress hormone”. It’s a natural steroid that your body makes that helps regulate different systems.

However, in times of stress, your adrenal glands are triggered to crank up the dose and those levels then start to peak and overload our system. This can give us those “stressed out” symptoms like an uneasy stomach and a feeling of overactivity. That in itself is not a bad thing either, because in short bursts it gives us a boost of energy, clarity and focus to get through an intense moment. It’s called your fight or flight response. This is helpful for things like public speaking or protecting yourself from a threat.

However, when that cortisol level doesn’t normalize, it becomes a serious issue.

Continued stress, living day to day with over active and prolonged fight or flight response, wreaks havoc on our body causing fatigue and trouble sleeping, increased anxiety, digestive issues, weight gain, higher susceptibility to infections, dampened immune function, memory problems, high blood pressure, aches and pains and hormonal issues. It can also lead to hypertension, shrinking of the brain, damaged organs, chronic disease, depression, Alzheimer’s and heart attacks.

Prolonged high levels of cortisol can result in adrenal fatigue where your adrenal glands no longer produce enough of the hormone to support your body. This can cause low blood pressure, low thyroid function, fatigue and sleep disturbances, brain fog, blood sugar imbalances, depression, lower immune function and inflammation.
We need our cortisol levels to normalise regularly to keep certain systems of our body balanced and functioning well. It directly effects our immune system, blood sugar levels, nervous system, metabolism and blood pressure.

So imagine how your health and wellbeing would change if you knew how to manage stress.

Health and wellbeing are the foundations of a thriving life. They are what keep you steady when things start to shake. No home can be built well on a weak foundation.

Strength and courage, that come from being self educated and self empowered with your health and wellbeing, are the bricks that build your house. They are the walls that protect you, build you and shape the person you are designed to be.

Resilience and growth also come with learning to manage your stress. These guys are the glue that hold all the pieces together. Without them you have a weak building that crumbles at the slightest tremor.

Passion and purpose are the electrical wiring within your home. Just like the internal electrical wiring within our bodies, this is the charge to everything that you are. The reason you get up each morning to embracing every day with energy and excitement. However, passion and purpose are hard to distinguish through a haze of stress.

This is why stress management is essential. All things fall into place when we manage our stress levels and in doing so, give ourselves the best chance to think clearly and rationally, feel confident and empowered and live happier and freer embracing all we were designed to be for this moment.

You and I can make that happen for you.

Stress management does not have to be stressful or overwhelming and I can help you walk through different strategies that work for you and your lifestyle.

The wonderful thing about our body is it’s natural ability to heal itself and to work toward homeostasis, which is your body’s ability to self regulate and adapt, coming back to balanced health and proper functioning. All you need to focus on is giving it the right environment.

We can have outside stressors and internal stressors. Outside stressors include our circumstances and things that can be outside of our control. Internal stressors are synthetic chemicals, toxins, illnesses and diseases that directly and negatively impact the health of our body.
